Old Country Church
03:15
|
|||
At an old country church in central Mississippi
I learned about God and the forces around me;
Good and Bad; Black and White
It’s ‘cause of that church I know which side is right!
Every Sunday we’d sit in that tiny room
We’d learn about God and what he can do
Adam and Eve, Moses and Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, even ol’ Jonah
But it was the stories of Jesus that caught my eye
How he died on the cross for the sins of you and I
But his death was not the end; it was all part of the plan
‘cause on the third day he arose and ended Satan’s plans!
It was at that church where I walked the aisle
And gave my life over to Christ
No magic words, no Hocus Pocus
Just come on in, the door’s wide open.
Since that day my life’s been changed
It will never again be the same.
No Rock ‘n’ Roll lifestyle for me.
A child of God is what I’ll be.

One Bad Apple
03:06
|
|||
All it took was one bad apple
To separate us from our maker.
We had it good but now our paradise is lost
And all it took was one bad apple.
Adam and Eve had it made in the shade,
They walked with God every single day.
They talked to him like he was their best friend,
That’s how it was before the birth of sin!
They had it all except for one tree.
God had told them, “Just let that one be!”
Then one day a snake deceived ol’ Eve,
She reached up high and grabbed a piece from the tree.
All it took was one bad apple
To separate us from our maker.
We had it good but now our paradise is lost
And all it took was one bad apple.
Then God went lookin’ for Adam and Eve,
He found them hidin’ in some trees.
They said, “Don’t look! We’re as naked as can be!
Please, oh God, we don’t want you to see!”
Then God said, “How do you know what naked is?
Tell me Adam just what you did!”
So Adam said, “It’s all because of Eve!
She made me eat a piece of fruit from that tree!”
All it took was one bad apple
To separate us from our maker.
We had it good but now our paradise is lost
And all it took was one bad apple.
Then God kicked them out of Paradise,
So much for the simple life.
There’s nothin’ left here for you to do,
These are the cards that have been dealt to you.
“To Eve, child birth will be hard for you
And to Adam, the ground will be hard for you, too.
The snake will bite you at your heel,
All of this because you broke our deal!”
All it took was one bad apple
To separate us from our maker.
We had it good but now our paradise is lost
And all it took was one bad apple.

Gopher Wood
05:59
|
|||
God spoke to Noah inside his head
No need to worry, no need to dread
But I plan to destroy the world and everything in it!
You see I scoured the land, tryin’ to find
A man with Me on his mind
And you my friend, well Noah your it.
Now it’s gonna rain for forty nights and forty day
You and your family are all I’ll save
So please Noah be diligent.
Now I’m gonna have you build yourself a boat
And with that boat, well your gonna float
So if you wanna live, then Noah don’t quit!
You’ll go knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood
You’ll hammer some nails, beat ‘em real good
Bring the animals in, you’ll bring ‘em two by two
You, your wife, your kids, that’s what you’ll do
Once you go knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!
Well Noah went to work on that boat
But all his neighbors, they thought him a dope
They called him slow, dumb, pure ignorant.
But Noah didn’t listen to what they had to say
Instead the continued to work night and day
All the while, watchin’ the sky for rain!
He went knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!
He hammered some nails, beat ‘em real good
Brought the animals in, he brought ‘em two by two
He, his wife, his kids, that’s what they’d do
Once he went knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!
Then the rain it fell and the door it shut
The people outside they began to yell
Cry’s to God but it was too late!
Then the waters rose till all you could see
Was one big vast dark blue sea
The only things left were on that boat!
Yea Noah went knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!
He hammered some nails, beat ‘em real good
Brought the animals in, he brought ‘em two by two
He, his wife, his kids, that’s what they’d do
Once he went knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!
When the rain it stopped Noah let loose some birds
And waited anxiously for their return
The dove came back with branch in it’s mouth.
Then they looked to the sky and what did they see
The very first rainbow that ever did be
Stretched over the land and over the sea.
Now this rainbow above is a sign to all
That never again will God drown us all
Because of the faith of Noah and what he did.
He went knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!
He hammered some nails, beat ‘em real good
Brought the animals in, he brought ‘em two by two
He, his wife, his kids, that’s what they’d do
Once he went knock, knock, knock! On some gopher wood!

Elisha and the Bears
01:46
|
|||
Elisha was walkin’ down the road one day
When a bunch of little children came and blocked his way
They were up to no good
With nothin’ nice to say
There were forty-two of them and this is what they had to say
“Go away, Baldy! We don’t want you around.
Everyone will go blind when they see your bright, shiney crown!”
Elisha turned and looked all forty-two kids
Then he cursed them in the name of God, yea that’s what he did
Then from the forest charged two bears after the kids
They ripped them limb from limb until all were dead.
(SCREAMS)
Then Elisha started walkin’ down the road once more
And with that our little tale has come to a close
So I guess the moral of the story is watch what you say
Or one day bears will come and make a human puree.

Be Merciful
02:54
|
|||
Be merciful to me O God
Please be merciful
For my soul has faith in you
and the things you do.
My enemies have chased all day
O how they come
But you, O Lord, shall bring them down
until their numbers none.
Be merciful to me O God
Please be merciful
For my soul has faith in you
and the things you do.
In the shadow of your wings
I will make my place
Until these calamities have all passed away.
Be merciful to me O God
Please be merciful
For my soul has faith in you
and the things you do.
Awake my glory, awake my harp
I will wake the day
With praises sung to you, O Lord
Praises sung all day
At the end of the day they return
Growling like curs
Their tongues are like sharp edged swords
O how they kerf!
But you O Lord shall laugh at them
And scatter them with a touch
For you Most High are my Shield
In you I put my trust
Awake my glory, awake my harp
I will wake the day
With praises sung to you, O Lord
Praises sung all day
Be merciful to me O God
Please be merciful
For my soul has faith in you
and the things you do.

Jonah
12:35
|
|||
I. The Word of the Lord Part I
Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah
Said “Arise and go to Nenevah
Go and tell them what I say
‘Cause their wickedness has shown.
They’re so wicked. Pure Evil.
But Jonah didn’t go to Nineveh
Instead the went to Tarshish
He found himself floatin’ on a boat
In the middle of a storm.
Yeah he ran in fear, floatin’ on a boat
In a Storm.
II. The Ship
The wind blew and the rain it fell
The sailors aboard, they began to wail
Prayers to their gods of the raging sea
But the wind and the rain it did not cease.
Then they went down below and they found ole Joanah
Fast asleep lyin in a corner
The captain said arise and pray
And maybe your god will come and save the day
Then Jonah said it’s ‘cause of me the storm is here
I turned from God and I ran in fear
Throw me overboard and I guarantee
This big ol’ storm will suddenly cease
So they did as they were told and they tossed him overboard
Then each of the men thye prayed to the Lord
The waters calmed and the rain it ceased
The will of God was now appeased
III. The Funky Fish
IV. Nowhere to Run
Then out of the depths came the mighty whale
Eyes fixed on Jonah it began to inhale
The waters rushed and the winds roared
The angles looked on and the albatross soared
Nowhere to go Nowhere to run
Our man Jonah thought he was done
V. Jonah's Prayer
From inside the whale Jonah prayed to the Lord
(And he said)
In my distress I called to the Lord
(And He answered me)
From the depths of the grave I called for help
(And you heard my cry)
You hurled me into the deepest sea
(The very heart of the sea)
The oceans grabbed me, had me by the throat
(And it held on tight)
I was as far down as a body can go
(The gates were slamming shut)
Yet you pulled me up, from that grave alive
(From the depths of Sheol)
When I was in need you answered me
(You called me by my Name)
Ah…Ahh…Ahhchoo!
VI. The Word of the Lord Part II
Then Jonah went flying through the air,
And to his dispare,
He found himself just a three days walk from the town of Ninevah!
Right back where he started, from the beginning!
Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah
Said “Arise and go to Nenevah
Go and tell them what I say
‘Cause their wickedness has shown.
They’re so wicked. Pure Evil.
In forty days Nenevah will fall!
VII. Nenevah's Response
Let neither man nor beast nor bird nor herd
Eat or drink for it is God we have perturbed.
VIII. Nenevah Repents
Let man beast be covered in sack cloth
And with a mighty cry call out to God
Let everyone turn out from their evil ways
And put aside the violence their hands have made
Oh who can tell if God will turn and relent?
You better fall on your knees Nenevah and repent!
IX. Jonah Pouts
I knew this would happen, right from the start
For you O Lord have a merciful heart.
Your slow to anger and abundant in love
You wont do harm to those who deserve to die for their wickedness they have sown.
You O Lord just Ya just love ‘em all
So please O Lord take my life from me
For it is better to die than to see what I see!
X. God's Response
Up the mountain, Jonah he did go
Deep the ground God’s hand reached and sowed
A vine that would cover Jonah’s head
So he would have shade for his bed.
But late that night a worm made its way
To the vine that had just grown that day
It took one bite and then another
Before the sun rose, the vine had withered.
Jonah arose and found his vine was dead
The sun was hot beating down on his head
He became faint, his knees gave way
“Please O Lord, just take me today!”
Then God said, “Jonah, why so angry?
You didn’t grow the vine; that was all me.
I grew it in a day and took it in a night.
Why do you continue to test my might?
Why O Jonah do you care more for a tree
Than all the people in that great city?
How can you say I’m wrong to lift my mighty hand and spare this repentant land?”
And with these words our story comes to an end with Jonah mad and alone atop a mountain
No happiness, no joy, no peace of mind,
Just bitter contempt for his fellow mankind
But Nineveh, that’s a different story!
To God they give all the glory,
For sending one ungrateful profit to tell them of their wrongs,
They now lift god up in all their songs!
So in the end know that God will have his way no matter what it is you have to say!
Just follow his word with a pure mind and heart and avoid the belly of the fish right from the start.

Five Loaves, Two Fish
03:39
|
|||
Jesus went walking near Bethsaida
With a multitude by his side
He was preachin’ and teachin’ and healin’ the sick
Meatin’ needs of all who came by.
So that afternoon the twelve came to Him and said
“Master, please send them away,
‘Cause there’s nothin’ to eat and no place to sleep way out here in the wilderness.”
Then Jesus turned to them, with a smile and said,
“I leave it up to you to provide.”
So they wandered around lookin’ everywhere for any man or woman willing to share.
Then Andrew returned with a little boy,
In his hands this is what that boy bore.
Five loaves and two fish
“That’s all we could come up with!”
Five loaves and two fish
“Lord, what can we do with this?”
Then Jesus turned and looked them each in the eye and said “O ye of little faith!”
“How many day’s have you walked with me and witnessed all that I can do?
“You’ve seen me calm the seas, walk on the water,
“Turn water into wine!
“Lazzrus was dead, but now he is alive!
The deaf can Hear, I gave sight to the blind.
So have these people sit down and bow their head as I ask my Father to bless this bread.
Five loaves and two fish
Please, Lord, do what You do best!
Five loaves and two fish
Make this picnic multiply!
When they opened their eyes, all the baskets were full, filled to the brim with the fish and the bread.
Then Jesus said give it to the multitude,
Have each man and woman eat till they’re full.
So the twelve grabbed their baskets and did as they were told,
In the end there were still twelve baskets full.
So any time you feel yourself in doubt,
And you think all your resources have run out,
Remember this story about the fish and the bread,
And watch as He works things out for the best!
Five loaves and two fish
Five loaves and two fish
Five loaves and two fish
Five loaves and two fish

The Passion
04:38
|
|||
Part I
He walks down the road,
The cross a heavy load,
Too much for one to bear,
But the people just watch and stare.
At the end of his path,
He gets to rest at last,
As soldiers pound their spikes
In his wrists, with all their might.
Then they raise him up,
The cross falls with a thump,
A purple robe on his chest,
A crown of thorns adorns his head.
How did he end up here?
The people, they all cheered,
As they threw palms at his feet
When he first walked this street!
But now they’ve turned their backs,
All they do is mock and laugh.
They set a killer free!
Oh, can’t they see?
This man is innocent!
Just what has he done?
He healed the blind and the lame,
Oh, what a shame!
Part II
In a tomb, his body lays,
A stone rolled in front, guards set in place.
On the third night, the guards fell asleep,
The stone rolled aside, Oh, such a mystery.
Then Mary came, and found an empty tomb.
She cried out, turned around, then froze,
‘Cause standing outside, were two men glowing bright.
Said, “You won’t find him here, ‘cause in the night he arose!”
Part III
Ol’ Lucifer, yeah he tried his best,
To put the Holy Son down to rest.
He had it all planned out, through and through,
But in the end, Satan’s plans they all fell through.
‘Cause there ain’t nothin’ that can hold Jesus down
Yeah, He threw the chains of death on the ground;
He kicked the door of the grave open wide;
Through his death He gave us Life!
(He Arose! He Arose! Hallelujah, Christ Arose!)

Satan your kingdom must come down,
Satan your kingdom must come down.
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Satan your kingdom must come down.”
I see him ridin’ on a great white horse,
High up in the clouds.
His eyes burn like a blazing fire
And Satan he’s lookin’ right at you!
Satan your kingdom must come down,
Satan your kingdom must come down.
I heard the voice of Jesus cry,
“Satan your kingdom must come down.”
Satan your whore has been judged by the Son;
No more blood shall shed.
Then all the beasts shall fall down at his feet
Singing Alleluia and Amen.
Satan your kingdom must come down,
Satan your kingdom must come down.
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Satan your kingdom must come down.”
He’s gonna throw you in a lake of fire,
Gonna slam the door and lose the key.
There shall be no escape for you
And his people he will set free!
I’m gonna pray until He tears your kingdom down
Pray till he tears it down to the ground.
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Satan your kingdom must come down.”
Satan your kingdom must come down,
Satan your kingdom must come down.
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Satan your kingdom must come down.”
